Beaver Brewing Company
Unfortunately, the visit of the ‘Beaver Brewing Company’ started with a big disappointment. I went there because dariadaria shared a picture on Instagram, which said ‘best seitan burger in town’ in the caption. Of course, I had to try this out!
After my 15 minute tram ride, I arrived at the restaurant, only to hear that they don’t have seitan today. Luckily, they had another vegan option on their menu and the waitress was very nice, so I decided to stay and try the:
Smoky Black Bean Burger
A homemade burger bun filled with a black bean-quinoa-mushroom-beetroot- patty, vegan cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes, with ketchup and mustard. First, I have to mention that the ‘Smoky Black Bean Burger’ is not the cheapest – 13,40 for the burger with fries or salad, thus the second most expensive burger. The black beans in the patty really stand out in taste, so I can’t really taste the other ingredients. Therefore, I would rather call it a black bean patty, but hey I like beans! However, there is a lot of sauces in the burger which is really cool, because I think that many restaurants economize with the sauces. The homemade bread is definitely a plus but I believe that the vegan cheese should be optional. There are many vegans that try to avoid substitute products, and therefore go for the bean burger instead of the seitan burger, so they also might not like the vegan cheese. What I don’t really understand, are burgers without onions. Honestly, a burger without onions is like a pizza without cheese. The side-salad was really good, although it was a little smaller, in my opinion – but it’s not about the size right? The so-called handcut fries (I think this is a fancier term for homemade) are very good too and how I already mentioned the waitress was really nice and caring!

*This is my personal opinion. However, people say I have a good taste in food 😉
